Laws of Attraction

Using the Laws of Attraction

I am just curious about the number of people that set goals.

Do you write them down or just sort of have them somewhere in your mind?

How many of you write them down? Do you read them ever again? How about weekly? Twice a day?

If you are trying to apply the principles of the law of attraction or if you can't seem to get what you want in life, then this Cutting Edge Software is for you.

I started setting goals back in 1980. I wrote them down and broke each one into small steps. I set a time limit and put these all in my plan of action. I worked on the most important ones daily.

One the most important things I had to figure out prior to writing down my goals was to figure out who and what I was. To do that, I performed an exercise of documenting what I had already accomplished in life; places I had been, things I had seen, athletic accomplishments, promotions, education, spiritual events, etc. I was floored at what I had already done without actually writing down the goal to accomplish it. This exercise showed what strengths I had. (It was also an exercise in affirmations.)

Secondly I had to document what I saw as weaknesses. I already knew what strengths I had and did not need to work on those, but had to work on what I perceived as my weaknesses.

The next exercise was to write down everything I wanted to do, become, invent, acquire, etc., without setting any limitations. One of my dreams was to be 3 inches taller. Impossible... at the time I wrote that in 1980 but not impossible now! Today, there are 2 different surgical procedures that will give you up to 3 inches in height. (Did I metaphysically create that by writing it down?)

Another crazy thing I wrote down was to create a toy laser gun so kids could play with them. I still have the paper I wrote this on and the dates I wrote them. It predates "Laser Tag" by several years.

The next step was to take some of these dreams and actually convert them into goals. I will provide a wealth of information on accomplishing this in a later posting.

One of my goals in 1980 was to donate 10 gallons of my rare A-Negative blood. I had given only 3 units (pints) at that time and 80 units seemed very far off. 28 years later and I am now at 90 units and will have my reassessed goal of 100 units in about 2 years from now. (When I was on my way to donate my 78th unit, my wife played a little guilt trip on me and asked me if I was just going to quit donating. So I changed my goal; because she was right. And because every unit can save up to 3 lives.) Who knows.... Maybe I will just continue to donate. What is really nice to see is that my wife and children have also become donors.

By the way, nearly everything I was doing was, unknown to me at the time, by using the Laws of Attractions. I was creating a synergistic or metaphysical ether that drew what I wanted to me; either directly or indirectly.

What an interesting topic! Seems like I used to be too busy to think about setting goals, let alone trying to meet them. In the last few years, all that has changed. I don't formally write down what I am trying to do, but I do keep a mental benchmark of what I've accomplished and what needs to be done yet. It seems, for the most part, this has really worked out well for me. If I don't meet a certain goal, I don't beat myself up about it, but look back on it and try to figure out what happened and why I didn't successfully complete it. Valuable lessons learned that way, but only if you are totally honest with yourself.

I just mastered a big step. My experience s a victim in my early childhood was a big roadblock, why I could not move forward.

Goals are great but if you are your worst enemy not to achieve them, you need to dig deep to find what keeps you off success. I used EFT and it took me one week hard work. Then I felt empty nd that was a good chance to fill the gap with positive feelings and your goals.

Now everybody tells me I look different. I definitely feel different.

Excellent job! It does take a lot of work and changes in your life to change direction.

Thank you for sharing with the group!

I have just added my first file to get you started in writing down your Master Dreams List. Download it and print out several copies and start writing downs your dreams and goals. You can print the top and bottom on one side of a lined sheet of 3-ring binder paper. Take a 1 1/2 inch 3-ring binder and start putting together your personal plan of action.

Here is the Goal Planning Sheet I developed from many different ones. This is the one I use and it has worked many times for me.

Once you have your dreams written down on several sheets of paper, start dividing them into these 6 areas:

1. Physical & Health
2. Mental & Educational
3. Family & Home
4. Spiritual & Ethical
5. Social & Cultural
6. Financial & Career

Once you have them divided up, start writing down each of the goals you want to accomplish on an individual goals sheet.

Hello Steve,

Thank you for sharing your work, that you have done on the "Goal Planning" sheets, all the material is so clear.

I will start my goal settings right away. I'd like to add, The time is right for us to start this new project, as you know by now, I work with Astrology.

My Daughter, works with the numbers so she keeps me abreast of the numbers in returned I keep her informed about the Planets. lol.

The Numbers have given to us information to vast to mention here at this time. But, my referenc now is to the cycle of the Nine years. Example, last year, 2007=9 the ending of Nine years. This wonderful year is 2008 which is a 10 = 1 year by reduction. The universal knowledge is that 10 is reduced to a 1 and 1 is the starting point in this case to the next 9 years...
Defines:
Time to start moving ahead and setting the goals, you are helping us with.

It just doesn't get much better in synergy than what we have going.
Does it? (snickering)

Good Luck to all of us.
From me to U

Steve, I was wondering, if sitting this up in our folders in our computers, and working on our Goals Setting would benefit us in the same way.

You said, "Steve, I was wondering, if sitting this up in our folders in our computers, and working on our Goals Setting would benefit us in the same way."

First, let me see if I am interpreting your question correctly. What I am "hearing" is you are wanting to create your Action Plan on your computer instead of physically writing it down. While I commend you for thinking of this (Why didn't I think of it first? Steve screams!!!! Ha!), I actually think that when you apply the laws of learning, you realize that you enternalize more emotionally and physically by the process of physically writing. (That is why I used a fountain pen to take notes in college. I had to focus harder to physically write the notes.) I, personally, will not use the computer to manage my goals. I have actually written up the goals physically and then put them on virtual sheets on my PC. I found that when I printed them, I did not really work on them any more. However, I would work on the ones I had put pen to. (I recommend using pen and not pencil.) But for some, using a PC may actually be better to manage their goals. Also, for those whom are handicapped, please use any method possible!

I was driving in the Washington, DC, traffic on the way home from a Process Improvement course today and listening to the "28 Laws of Attraction". The author said something akin to, "Never underestimate the awesome power of goal setting." He also said that he has 1,000 members of his research and development staff and a couple hundred in his ideas staff. I cannot wait until we grow to that size and start sharing all that information.

While writing this reply, my mind, as it normally does, jumps around a bunch. One thing I thought about was putting together an Access database for goal setting. I am pretty handy with Access and you have given me a super idea. I think I will build it over the next several weeks (don't wait to start your goals!) and publish it here for free for the membership. However, if you or Dan or Gary or one of the other computer gurus want to do it, feel free to jump in. Maybe we can collaborate on it.

Hello Steve,
Every one needs nice strokes now and then, here is one for you, from the Song, John Denver, It goes like this.
You fill up my senses
Like a night in the forest
Like the mountain in springtime,
Like a walk in the rain.
******************************

Where I am coming from with this is when You said that " I " gave "
YOU" an idea. Wow O wow!
Sometimes, I wish I could understand " Me " I always give people ideas and they take off with them and the results have been great. A long time ago, I had started to use an Astrological Calender, that was set up for Central Time, they were quite large and I sold them out of my office for years. L. P. and I talked on the phone several times, and out of the top of my head I said, Why don't you reduce the size of your Calender or just make us a small one for our hand bag. The next year here it was on his order sheet, that was twenty years ago, he has left us and his son-in-law still has the business and I know them now...

After that little cycle a Lady came out with a wonderful book on Candle Lighting for Prosperty. She told us about the energy of the colors and when to light certain ones for certain situations. She became a client of mine, and I picked up that she needed to produce a Calender with the dates, times and colors to light. And she did.

So, I put cases and cases of candles in the office of all colors for my clients, gosh we had fun and I made lot's and lot's of money. (Smile, Smile)

You might ask for just fun, How many cases of candles I sold to Creative Lady, She was a Wonderful client,

Now here you are, and I have ideas flying in my head.
That, is why I gave you a few lines of John Denver's song,
Now I can't get it out of my head.
But, Thank you for being here, Now.

Your explations about the Computer and the Pen in the hand you are so right. When I look back at some of my Planet reports, I had finished they were always written with a Black felt pin, as it made my writting slower and more appealing, to me when I had to go back to the writings.

Hello Steve,

I have made the copies, they will help in working on goal setting thank you for sharing your work with us, it is going to be a good starter for me to stay organize with this new endevor.

I will also add a folder in the computer, to capture those great ideas that fly through the air. I felt it also would be interesting to review the ideas and later, use them, with the forms that I have printed.

I understand what you are saying about the pen or pencil in our hands, I feel we do work at a deeper level in that way than on a computer.

Also it could be a wide open quess.

Not sure about the guess. I wonder if a comparative analysis has been accomplished to determine which method is more effective.

In listening to the 28 Laws of Attraction on the way home from training, the author, Thomas Leonard, provides a way of using goal setting to remove some of the gunk in our lives.

Take a sheet of paper and write down all of the things you put up with that you really shouldn't. Some people will say they cannot write 20 things down...but when they get started, suddenly they have 60 or more things in there life they put up with and want to stop.

Once you have these written down, make a goal to start getting these out of your life.

He mentions several examples that I will try to put down to give you an idea of what I am talking about.

You have a scratch on your car that slightly irritates you and could be fixed cheaply but you accept it. Don't accept it any more. Fix it!

You have a loose button that you know is eventually going to fall off. Fix it now.

Your friend has a habit of speach, or scratch, or smell, or dress that really annoys you. Speak privately to your friend. Something like... "I am trying to remove some of the minor irritations in my life. Things that are so minor, but have a slightly negative impact on my life. I need your help and understanding in doing this and it can be a little fun. I know I irritate some people in different ways and I want you and I to share ways we can become closer friends by removing some of these minor irritations. Okay?"

Bottom line is to stop accepting these minor irritations.
