Laws of Attraction

Using the Laws of Attraction

HELLO,
For the last few months, I have been working, from the Book, "The new Earth." as well as the 10 weeks webcast, the Author Eckhart Tolle, presented by Ohrah book club. What a marvelous opportunity I had, to set back in my recliner, with the laptop and take in that 10 weeks. I was born way back in 1933 and look at all the things that has happened just in my life time and then to set with Mr. Tolle, teaching me about just being in the present.

I'm learning "To Be Here Now," as Ram Dass taught in the 60th and 70th. So to be here now I was able to hear more of the same again, isn't it wonderful how the "new" is only the "old"

The question that I've been think about is the one that has been ask by Steve. "Do I sat goals, I have in the past, but I don't now. My belief in setting goals has been thrown off center, by a statement that I have been pondering. I'll explain, the best I can and perhaps some of the forum can shed light on current my small dilemma.

If you set up a Goal at that very moment it is sent out in the eithers.
I just have some doubt if you can enchance it. It makes me think about what we have heard so much about, and that is be carefull what you ask for you might get it.

So I wonder if I have the intellingence to set goals. I wonder if goals should be set. I wonder if I would be in the universe long enough to
see my possibilities come into fruition or to see it fritter away.

In some teaching, "they say" lol, we come into this life time and there is an allotment we have, set up through Karma. That in that recurring life time we have an allotment, that we set up before we took that birth, and we will have no more or no less.

My thoughts take me quite often to the study of reincarnation. and those kind of teaching. The possibilities ahead for all of us is incredible.

I do hope you will insert how you feel about setting goals, or anything else I mentioned here.

Hello Creative lady,

Thank you for writing your "thoughts" about the topic of "Goal Setting." I have read your reply and I've "set" with your thoughts~~~ I think we have times in our life, where we can just set and look at life as a whole, that is where nature plays it's roll.

To spend the time with others, as you are doing in the "Now". that i see as "blessed time." the time we "recieve" those little miracles we have ask for. Ram Dass would say that is the "Season of our Life."

"Pleasure just start to happen." Then in the next breath we are learning something else, and, that may be that, "Nothing last forever."

In the wink of an eye, your feet hits the floor some morning, and "self says," It is time to set a few goals for myself.

Then you feel the shift, and when you make your move, you move all things into motion and change occurs.

That statment takes me back to "There is time for all things."

Bye for now.

I agree we should live for now, but our past is what makes our current personality/situation, so we do have to look back sometimes. We should not live in the past because that just prevents us from seeing our today and tomorrow. Living in the moment is too fleeting - you have to be forward looking to tomorrow. And always tell ourselves we are worthy of love, friendship, and all the other blessings life has in store for us. But we have to be able to receive those gifts, so we have to be present in the "now".

Hello Leo Lady, I hope you had a nice day and was able to stay out of the rain.

I like so very much what you wrote, and it will give others good information to think about.

I had a few interesting moments yesterday at the dining room table where 7 of us were sitting with Husband enjoying the cake and ice cream the kids brought for his birthday,

I thought it would be a good time to practice being in the moment and following every word they were chatting and laughing about. That, is what I am understanding about what Eckhart Tolle is writing about. The staying with the moment, not thinking about anything else but what is going on at that very moment.

He gave a good example, when your setting at a red light, can you just look at the light and notice the beauty of the red glow, can you think only of that while you are breathing in and out and taking it easy for just that moment. Very few do. Their thoughts are where do I go from here, Oh! I love the song that is playing, or I need to call someone on my cell. Never giving them self time to just be..

That is what I was trying to do, and I might say I was doing a pretty good job, just being quite, controlling my mind from rushing on, just listen to my wonderful family, When here came baby Madison, our Scorpio two year old, letting us all know she had just farted. I said Oh! baby maybe it would be best just to say I had gas on my tummy. Or, just say excuse me. She thought a second and said Grammy, fart is easier.
WEll! if Mr. Eckhart Toole was at the table with us, I think he would of left out of "the moment" as we all did..

Good-night my friends.
Find a moment and stay in it.
I'm going to try again.

When I used to live near the ocean, sometimes I would just go and sit close to the waves and just focus on their noise and beauty, letting everything else go. Sort of like Zen.

Many times when my wife and I are hiking in the forest we will just stop and let our senses absorb the surroundings. As we hike, we come upon all kinds of sources of beauty; deer, box turtle, mushrooms, unique burls on trees, butterflys, an interesting flower we have never seen before or the joy of ones we had, beautiful cliffs, log jams on the river...

Our lives are full of beauty and mystery. We only need to refocus our lives.

Be here Now, Be in the present. Be still and know. Just sit and Listen.

HERE IS THE REST OF THE STORY: After shopping, I went into their side walk cafe to have a piece of pie and a cold drink, the tables were rather close and three guys were sitting behind me...They were knee deep in solving all the problems in every country, that I had ever heard of..

My thoughts were I was so glad that I was not at that table with my two cents worth.
I was glad that I was not a part of their conversation.....I was at table away from from them I seemed to be safe in my space.

The space that i was in I mentioned at the first part of this note,,,,
But, if i were at their table could I be true to my self and and Stay in the present.
That's where practice comes in....Could I of kept my self quite.
Could I of been just the oberserver. I doubt it.

Even at the table next to them my thoughts were going into their conversations.

Nancy,

Connie and I did a 5 1/2 mile hike today to find 3 Geocaches. We came upon a couple of deer, one with a fawn, a couple of box turtles, and many other hikers and several fishermen. While on our way back from the most distant point, we paused several times beside the river at the some of rapids and just listened to the rush of the water over the rocks. We just love that.

This evening we went for an ice cream cone after shopping. While sitting there eating 2 young girls around 16 were discussing the books they have read, the houses in England verses America, and other things that 16 year old girls seemingly seldom think about (we thought). We could have joined in but it was refreshing to just listen to them chat. At times, my wife and I would look at each other with a knowing smile or a "What!" expression. We were actually very surprised at their conversation.

We enjoy going to the ice cream place just to observe other people from around the world and how everyone interacts. In a funny way, we are "in the moment" during our observations.

Steve. hello, that is interesting you and your wife were listing to others at their table and I was in your old home town, trying to keep my self in the present.

As I was saying it is rather hard to stay in the Present with chatter all around...I did feel at times I was not aware of my own body, but, had sliped over to be closer to what they were saying..

Oh! Steve, thank you for telling me about this forum. I really wanted something like this..thank you again

Nancy Anderson,

bye for now.

While hiking up the mountain Thursday after work in Denver, my firend, Ed, and I would pause periodically just to take in the beauty around us; the sage, the cactus, the mule deer, the cliffs, the lichen on the rocks, the scenery, and the sky. The beauty is nearly overwhelming, if one allows it in.

I feel you have to be in the present to actual feel the beauty around us.

Being in the present is a delightful state. There is just you and the intention, if you want to create.
