Here is one the kids always loved:
Steve's Secret Pot Roast
Ingredients
4 pounds of shoulder roast or stew meat
3 to 4 medium potatoes (not peeled but sliced)
1 medium yellow onion (skinned and sliced)
1 bell pepper (cored and sliced)
1 bunch of green onions (chopped)
1 bunch of celery (chopped)
1 bunch of carrots (chopped into 1 inch lengths)
2 beef bouillon cubes
2 cups of hot water
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
1/2 teaspoon sage
1/2 teaspoon basil
1 teaspoon garlic power
1 teaspoon parsley flakes
2 ounces of olive oil
Heat olive oil, parsley, and chopped onions in skillet until just short of burning. Add meat and sear to brown on all sides.
Place all the meat, juices, oil, parsley, and green onions into baking dish.
Add 2 cups of hot water with dissolved bouillon cubes into baking dish.
Mix up the remaining ingredients and add them to the baking dish, cover and bake at 325 degrees for 2 to 3 hours.
Serve and enjoy.
Shhhhh..... The secret is in the parsley and cayenne pepper. The parsley helps rid the meat of free-radicals and the cayenne helps your digestive tract.
